Engineers Canada is also hosting three virtual conference sessions in the lead-up to the Employer Leadership Summit:

May 3, 2023: Seeking out EDI Expertise
Join us to discuss the process of writing a Request for Proposal (RFP) for equity, diversity, and inclusion services! Our panel will share why EDI expertise is required in the engineering profession, what to look for in hiring an EDI consultant, what consultants wish their clients knew, and how to build meaningful relationships with service providers. Register

May 10, 2023: Guidelines for EDI
Join our speakers for a discussion of the Canadian Engineering Qualifications Board’s (CEQB) Guideline for Women’s Workplace Equity. Guidelines can be an important tool for sharing principles and practices. Through this panel you will learn about the urgency and importance of centering lived experience when creating toolkits, such as guidelines, for EDI practice, and the realities of “one-size-fits-all" EDI initiatives. Register

May 17, 2023: Anti-violence in the workplace
Engineers commit to safeguarding human life and welfare, which requires a recognition of injustices when they occur. During this session, we will be discussing workplace violence prevention: how to go beyond the legal framework to be an anti-violence and anti-harassment workplace. Topics will include myths around gender-based violence, what individuals can do to shift the culture of a workplace away from shame and silence, and resources that survivors can use to navigate often-inadequate systems. Register
