Call for Nominations – Ernst and Young Entrepreneur Of The Year

Since 1994, Ernst & Young have recognized some of the best and brightest entrepreneurial minds in Canadian business through the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year Awards.

This great program not only recognizes the entrepreneur and their teams at their businesses, but also (and even more importantly) celebrates and promotes entrepreneurs here in Nova Scotia with the goal of inspiring others.  In the past we've had Nova Scotia engineers both as finalists and award recipients. This includes Hector Jacques (Jacques Whitford), Peter Rent (Neill & Gunter), Dale Robertson (Enerscan Engineering), and Stephen Wallace (Terrain) to name a few.

The program is broken down into five geographic regions: Pacific, Prairies, Ontario, Québec and Atlantic. Each region has its own independent judging panel, which selects award finalists and winners in several categories. In the fall, each region hosts a gala awards banquet, where each finalist is honored and presented the category awards. The climax of the evening is the presentation of the regional Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year Award. The five overall regional winners then go on to the national event in November to compete for the prestigious title of Canada’s Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year.

You are being encouraged to help identify the outstanding engineering entrepreneurs of 2010 by nominating them for the Entrepreneur Of The Year Awards. You or someone you know could be among those honoured. An Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year nominee must be an owner or manager of a private or public company with primary responsibility for the recent performance of the company and an active member of top management. The nominee’s company must be at least three years old.
